Banner ADs are small banners that are placed periodically in rooms, between posts, that can showcase a public or hybrid room.  These ADs are not being used to advertise anything outside of WBS, and we are trying our best to make these ads small and innocuous, while giving players more options than they thought they had.  We are finding that these ADs are helping rooms reveal their genre, or role play expertise to the players on WBS; thus giving all rooms a greater opportunity at growing their player base. 

No one is trying to steal players away from other rooms, but at WBS we realize that people play in many places for many different reasons.  Some people even play off of WBS because they didn't realize the rooms that WBS has to offer.  These Banner ADs seek to give a player more playing opportunities.


Banner ADs can only be turned on and off in a room host's Supervisory Panel, under Realm Settings > Banner Ads? > Select One: Display (to turn on banner ADs in your room, so that Banner ADs will be rotated periodically between your player's posts) OR Exempt (to turn OFF this function in your room).  Players cannot turn off their ability to see Banner ADs between posts, but we have made it so that the rotation time and banner ADs will not interfere with a player's role play.


Below we will outline the steps to getting a room Banner AD in the rotation:

1. You must have a public or hybrid room on WBS, and must only be advertising your room.


2. Banner ADs need to be 375 pixels in width, by 60 pixels in height.  If you need help creating your banner, you can contact the WBS Admin.'s for assistance (please see www.worldbroadcastingsystem.com > Contacts for information on who to contact for assistance; anyone providing room design help should be able to help with a Banner AD). 
If you obtain assistance outside of the WBS admin. in creating your banner: you must have exclusive and permanant permission and rights to post your banner AD on WBS.  You always retain full and permanant permission and rights to post your banner AD on WBS if a WBS Admin. helps you with your Banner AD.


3. Make sure your room name is clearly on your banner AD; otherwise it defeats the purpose.


4. In order to have your banner AD put into rotation your room must have banner AD's displayed in your own room.  We require that rooms that request to have a banner AD in rotation allow banners to be displayed in their own room, for fairness to other rooms.
If you submit a banner AD and you do not have banner AD's set to display in your room: It will either be turned on by an Admin, or your banner will not be added into rotation until banner ADs are set to be displayed in your room.  If at any time while your banner AD is in rotation (there is no expiraton date, unless you specify one to us) your room is found to have Banner AD's turned off; your banner will be removed or your banner AD setting will be changed and you will be informed of this MANDATORY guideline in order to continue to have your banner displayed throughout the site.

Repeated non-compliance of this guideline will mean your room's banner AD will be removed from rotation, and your room will never be permitted to have a banner AD in the rotation again.

To make sure Banner ADs are turned on in your room:  In a room host's Supervisory Panel, under Realm Settings > Banner Ads? > Select One: Display (to turn on banner ADs in your room, so that Banner ADs will be rotated periodically between your player's posts).  If you need help, please don't hesitate to contact an Admin for assistance.


5. Submit your banner to Cliff. 
The WBS Admin. reserve the right to reject or refuse a banner for any reason.  Banner ADs that are too busy, or offensive will not be put into rotation.  The Admin's always have final say in which banner ADs will make it into rotation, this isn't to say that banner ADs will be excluded, but we reserve the right to do what is best for all the rooms on WBS. 
Making your banner as easy to read as possible under all background circumstances, without offensive images or text for display in rooms rated C (Child friendly) and above; will go a long way in ensuring that your banner AD will be added into rotation.
